About This Film

"Sometimes, everybody wants to be somewhere else."

Since the overturning of Roe v. Wade, access to abortion is not only no longer protected, but women across America are being criminalized and stripped of their rights to healthcare.

Due to the Trump administration's attempts to defund Planned Parenthood, many locations are being shut down. Even if abortion is legal in your state, there is still a chance you will have to travel to find a clinic.

To be pregnant in America is a dangerous thing.

This film will bring AN URGENT AWARENESS about the nuances of needing an abortion and the fear, loneliness, guilt, and shame that America forces us to carry.

While it is inherently a film about abortion, the heart of the story is about hope and learning to trust people.

I'm Your Baby is an independent road movie from the heart of award-winning filmmaker Josie Fite. It follows an embarrassed, pregnant young woman who hitches a ride with a slightly manic friend-of-a-friend to get an abortion. The two hit the road as strangers, but their journey through the southwest confronts them both with their need to be cared for.

“Josie’s unflinching explorations of belonging and connection in an increasingly alienating world somehow straddle darkness and wit, realism and despair, fear and hope. She is a true artist, bold and resolved. If this is the future of American cinema, then we’re in good hands.”

–Chris Kelley (screenwriter: The Thicket)

“The American road trip with a serious aim but also serious unforeseen consequences, including, friendship, growth, vulnerability, and trust. People like Josie are really our only hope, no pressure.”

–Tim Johnston (New York Times bestselling author of The Heartland Trilogy)
